Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kenya
After almost 10 years, the office of the German Honorary Consul in Kenya, located in Diani, opened its doors again in October, 2024. The office serves as an extended arm of the German Embassy in Nairobi, therefore saving many people the long trip to Nairobi.
The German Honorary Consul is Stefan Wentzel. He is responsible for the six coastal counties: Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Lamu, Tana River, and Taita Taveta. Apart from the German tourists he is also in charge for the more than 1,000 German residents of South Coast.
In addition to providing consular services, his role also includes to intensify the good cooperation between Kenya and Germany.
